I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.

A man of profound faith and humility, Pope Francis guided the Roman Catholic Church with a spirit of mercy, courage, and pastoral devotion. His voice, rooted in the Gospel and attuned to the cries of the poor, the marginalised, and the earth itself, resonated far beyond the walls of the Vatican. He reminded the world that greatness lies in service, and that the path of peace is paved with justice, compassion, and reconciliation.
